Well, I found the badmitten net, but...

We found the badmitten set, and we had planned to play a nice, brisk game in the backyard. My sister and daughter went on out and started batting the birdy around while I finished the supper dishes. Just as I was about to join them in the backyard, they came dejectedly in. I asked what the problem was. My daughter wailed, "I hit the birdy on the roof!" So, that was the end of badmitten. I hope it and the frisbee are having a good time up there.

Music

This post is more of a test to see if my music files come through. I want to share music with my readers, and so I started an account on one of those file saving sites.

Sailing Through June

I don't seem to be getting as much done as I would have liked, but the days only have 24 hours in them. Trying to write takes up a lot of my time. Notice, I said "trying to write". I actually did finish an essay I had in my mind for a long time, but I am getting nowhere fast, it seems.

The cat is not spending as much time on the dining room table as he used to. This I attribute to my younger sister, The Cat Whisperer (she has a blog here, as well), who is visiting and trying to discipline the little fella.

We were going to play frisbee the other day, but before I could even get out to the yard, my daughter managed to throw it on the roof. So much for that.

Now, if I could only find the Badmitten net...

The Weekend and The Cat

Here we see Mr. Cheshire Boots taking a rest from his usual hair raising activities. He has been quite active, as usual. Let's see. He tried to eat my head, "helped" me during a 15 minute freewrite exercise I was doing to get an idea for an essay, and has just generally kept himself busy.
My reducing plan has been successful so far, two pounds has come off in the last few days. I am exercising regularly, and feeling better than I have in a long time.
This coming week I hope to get my essay written, some more done on the house, and I have a teacher's conference to go to.

My Yard

I worked in my yard tonight. My mother bought several bags of mulch, and we hacked away at a dead bush, (drat those contractors), and used stepping stones to make a little walkway to the faucet, so I don't track mud into the house. Then, we scattered the mulch. We watered the grass, and picked up little twigs.
You may wonder why I even mention such mundane activities. It is because I have never had a yard before.
Oh, sure, I had plenty of yards when I was a kid. But, for the past several years, my daughter and I have lived in apartments, we have had a small square of concrete to frolic in.
If you had told me last year at this time I would be working in my own yard this summer, I wouldn't have believed you. We closed on the house three weeks before my daughter's 15th birthday. I always wanted a house to call our own, and I really wanted to get it before she left home. I wasn't sure for years if it would happen, but the Lord favored us.
I guess the next thing to do is start painting.
Have a great weekend.

School's Out For The Summer!

YEEE HAWWW! We have the entire summer before us. Filled with endless possibilities. Being a new home owner, I have an idea of what I will be spending a lot of my time doing.

I am also the proud owner of a cat, well, he is gracious enough to let me pretend I own him.

He has been with us for a little over two weeks now, and is just right at home.

I am new to this blogging business, so bear with me. This one will be short, but I promise to be more interesting next time.

Have a good week, everyone.
